Configuring a good loyalty program is just the beginning. To attract a lot of customers, you will have to offer good rewards for the collected points. In the UpMenu system, you can do it fast and easily! The loyalty points can be used in two ways:

Exchanging points for a discount

It is possible to exchange collected loyalty points for a discount. For example, This configuration suits well with the loyalty program based on the number of created orders. We recommend using “One point for each accepted order” as a method of calculating loyalty points for this type of reward.

  1. Go to “Marketing” → “Discounts”. Press the “Create a new discount” or “New discount” button.

  2. Introduce the name and the description of the discount.

  3. Fill in the “Discount cost in loyalty points” section, where you have to introduce how many loyalty points are needed to use the discount.

  4. Expand the option of the created discount and add rewards and, optionally, conditions.

  5. Go to “Marketing” → “Promotions and events”. Click on the “New promotion” button and fill out the form by introducing the name and the description of the promotion.

  6. If you have a chain of restaurants, choose the restaurants where the promotion will be available in the “Restaurants where promotion exists” section.

  7. Select the previously created discount in the “Choose discounts” section.

  8. Save changes.

  9. Once a customer gathers the number of points needed, the discount will be automatically added to their next order.

Exchanging points for regular menu items

Another option is making it possible to buy some of the items on your menu with loyalty points. You can add a loyalty points price to any of the products that have a regular price. It is a very efficient way of encouraging your clients to buy more and collect the points! We recommend using “Points for the amount spent” as a method of calculating loyalty points for this type of reward.

  1. Go to the Menu section.

  2. Click on “Edit details (a pencil icon) next to the item you wish to edit.

  3. Go to the “Description” section and add the information about the loyalty points price of the product.

  4. Expand the “Advanced settings”.

  5. Go to the “Loyalty Program” section and enter the price of the product in points.

  6. If a customer adds to the cart a product with loyalty points, the system will automatically reduce the price if the customer has enough loyalty points. Otherwise, the system will present the regular price.

Tip

Instead of adding the information about the loyalty points prices in the description, consider creating a special picture with the information about it.

Exchanging points for special loyalty points items

UpMenu allows you to add products to your menu that will be available to buy only for loyalty points. By doing so, your customers will be double motivated to collect the points! We recommend using “Points for the amount spent” as a method of calculating loyalty points for this type of reward.

  1. Go to the Menu section.

  2. Create a new section. You can name it, for example, “Rewards for points”.

  3. Add new menu items in the section and add the picture.

  4. Set the price as 0.

  5. Click on “Edit details (a pencil icon) next to the item you wish to edit.

  6. Go to the “Description” section and add the information about the loyalty points price of the product.

  7. Expand the “Advanced settings”. Go to the “Loyalty Program” section and enter the price of the product in points. Enable the “Points are required” option.

  8. If a customer adds the products to the cart, the information about the number of loyalty points needed to realize the order will be presented. The product can be bought only for loyalty points: a customer will not be able to place an order without enough points.

Tip

Instead of adding the information about the loyalty points prices in the description, consider creating a special picture with the information about it.
