To activate the e-commerce reports and add goals, activating the Universal Analytics property option is necessary whilst creating the Google Analytics account.


Please note that Google has decided to suspend Universal Analytics service as of July 1, 2023, when the service stops processing new activities. For customers who are using Universal Analytics, it is highly recommended to switch to Google Analytics 4 as soon as possible.

Enabling e-commerce

E-commerce reports allow you to analyze activity on your site or app and provide valuable information, such as average order value, purchase time, and other transaction information.

In order to use the service, you must activate the Universal Analytics service whilst creating an account with Google Analytics.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.

  2. Go to the “Admin” section.

  3. Click “Ecommerce Settings” in the “View” column.

  4. Move the slider to enable e-commerce.

  5. Save changes in order to activate e-commerce.

Creating a new goal

This service allows you to verify if your website or app is fulfilling the goals you set. This is a key element of web analytics, which can provide a variety of crucial information, such as the rate and number of conversions. Without them, it is practically impossible to evaluate the effectiveness of a company's online activities and its online campaigns.

In order to use the service, you must activate the Universal Analytics service whilst creating an account with Google Analytics.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.

  2. Go to the “Admin” section.

  3. Click “Goals” in the “View” column.

  4. Click on the “+NEW GOAL” button or “Import from Gallery” to create a new goal.

  5. Choose a template of the goal.

  6. Continue.

  7. Name the goal and choose its type.

  8. Set the goal details.

  9. Save the form in order to create the goal.

Important

If the buttons “+NEW GOAL” and “Import from Gallery” are not visible, then you have already created a maximum of 20 goals for the current view.
